I have come across many resources on animal embroidery designs focusing on cats, bulls, dogs, reindeer to name a few.   Today I stumbled upon Blue Ribbon Printwear – A comprehensive dog embroidering website indeed.. The owners of the website – Linda and Helmut Fleisch are true dog lovers and have owned about a dozen dogs in the last 10 years.    The set contains about 100 different dog breeds embroidery patterns – the maximum I have seen in any resource till date.  All designs come as appliques/patches with a maximum size of 9 inches by 5 inches.  These stock designs can be collaged into a T-shirt or apparel for a custom purchase.  Colors can be changed depending on ones taste other than what one sees on the website, but always keeping in mind the actual colors of the breed.  For example, the springer spaniel could be liver or black OR the siberian silver or reddish.

All embroidery designs are also available as iron-on’s (information on iron-on appliques would be helpful here).

Custom embroidery here also includes embroidered caps, patches, Tee shirts, sweat shirts, denim shirts to name a few.

Some of the motifs are unique like the Tibetan Spaniel and the Scottish deer hound you see below the post.

panda-bear.jpgHi!  I just came across this resource at “Embroidery Just For You“ which gives you some swell animal embroidery designs and all for FREE on purchase of a minimum of 25 dollars worth goods!    Most of the free machine embroidery goodies are sized lower than 3 inches width by 3 inches height.  You could use these as small appliques which could be put on your favourite shirt as a logo.   The variety is amazing and I found a few unique pieces in the bargain.   The panda, camel, bobcat and the polar bear are a few of them.

The expressions on some of the animals like camel.jpgthe lion cub and tiger are cute.  The white rhino and the skunk needs more detailing which could not be done primarily due to the size of the free embroidery design.

These horns or antlers form a woven pattern in itself and various creative mazes can come into view over the animal’s head. This common feature differentiated these designs from ordinary animal embroidery designs and they formed a subtype called elk embroidery designs.

Check out this collection at Joann Designs. This is a vast resource of various types of moose, deer and elk. What is unique is that outlines and silhouttes of deer are also covered in this resource. The mix of designs is good which gives it a wholistic view.elk-moose-embroidery-designs.jpg

The deer you see to your left is one of the examples. This is 4.44 inches width by 6.03 inches height with a stitch count of 19178. This is available in most machine embroidery formats like CND, CSD, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PES, SEW, XXX, PCS. The information on machine embroidery would come in handy here.

Some of the other ones which you should not miss are the charging deer, oval fawn scene and moose outline. The moose in circle you see adjacent here is another example of a good patch-in which can find uses in various home embroidery items. This is a 3.69 inches width by 3.69 inches height with a stitch count of 13919. The number of colors used here are 6.

For all the kids and kids related clothing, here is the surprise resource for you. Kids Travel Zone is specially focused on cute animals which can be used as beautiful appliques on all childrens garments and related items like bibs and dinnner cloths.

I liked all of them especially the camel and the colourful frogs. But what was really eyecatching was the bull. The expressions of the bull came out quite clearly in such a simple manner. The expression on the face has been remarkably embroidered. This would make a cute applique on T-shirts of small boys. It came to me through a newsletter.

If you are into animal embroidery designs, you definitely should visit SecretsOf.com (click on “Everything for Embroidery” and then on “animals” from the left-side navigation menu). This is the largest collection of animals I have ever seen – even larger than all the zoos I have visited (and, mind you, I am an avid zoo-goer). The ones that I liked the most were the cuddlesome critters applique designs, including some cute giraffes, elephants, and horses.

Another place you may want to check out is ArtisticThreadWorks.com (use their search function to search for “animal”).
